Culture Class and Trip to Ribe-Søster Severson's Adventures in Esbjerg Denmark September 20, 2021 Week 74

 Good week this week!! Not a ton to report on, mostly just classic tech work, had my "culture class" to stay in the country and extend my visa. (Jokes lol cause I go home soon), but it was super fun! It was on marriage and family law and democracy and freedom super interesting!! Most of the other missionaries thought it was super boring but I took notes!(Yes, I am a nerd.)

Other than that our week was super low key. Just same old missionary stuff, but today we went out to Ribe. The oldest city in Denmark and the oldest Christian church in DK from omkring 850ekf so that's super cool!! We took some pictures and did some fun dances. 

Spiritual thought this week is a quote from Mary Stallings that says "a lack of  understanding is not a lack of faith it is just a fact of faith" I loved that idea, often revelation comes as foggy inspiration, one step to take at a time but we have to act in faith without an understanding if we want to progress. Following revelation is messy and hard. Having faith is scary sometimes. But trusting God always leads us to more beautiful places than we could ever bring ourselves so have faith and follow the journey even if you don't quite know where you're going yet. :)

Soster Severson's Mission Adventures Week 12, Love of the People in Fayetteville, North Carollina

Hej!!! This week has gone by so fast!! We found 3 new people to teach and had 2 sacrament meetings. (Basically member present at a lesson on a Sunday... thanks CoVid) but so exciting!!!  Low of the Week: Facebook and Ward office computers, both have been making our lives incredibly difficult, we spent two hours trying to edit and post a ten minute video for our areas Facebook Page. High of the Week: We had a lesson with a recent convert outside, it was crazy hot and humid but we got to meet his German Sheppard puppy #blessings #GodisGood My favorite part of being in North Carolina has definitely been the people. I know it is what every missionary says but like the people here are just the best!!! They are so faithful and just LOVE Jesus so much. It shouldn't be so surprising to me that people outside the Church love God but I guess I didn't know many religious people outside of the Church before I came out. DENMARK COPENHAGEN MISSION!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!      I AM SO EXCITED! When I woke up this morning I kept telling myself that it would be ok if my call didn't come today or wasn't to where I expected. BUT IT DID COME AND I'M SO HAPPY!      As I was praying this morning I felt an overwhelming feeling that it wouldn't be somewhere I was expecting but that it would be absolutely where I am supposed to go. So when I opened it up and I saw Denmark it just felt so right! It checked every box I had, and didn't know I had.      Good weather that leans more chilly, likely lots of Gluten-free food available, friendly people, there is a temple in Denmark, I get to learn a language (for the most part immersion except they all speak English... guess we will just have to work extra hard on Danish), and it's just like a super cool place?!?!      So I get to learn DANISH! Intermission week 1

      Wow these past few days have felt so unstructured compared to the MTC- But I forget how much I need recharge time so it has been good to be able to find new ways to fill the time.       Our last few days in the MTC were kind of crazy- we had a teaching appointment like everyday and we said goodbye to our teachers way too quickly. Part of me felt like 'yes ok I am ready to be done with this', but the other part was like 'ahhh wait I still understand nothing and can't say anything waittt'! Getting released was also weird too, mostly just because I thought I would feel different but I felt the exact same and I was like ahh I feel guilty watching netflix I'm a missionary, wait no I'm not... why do I still feel guilty? Luckily that passed and I just feel calm now.       I don't think I realized how much pressure and anxiety I was putting on myself to be perfect and to be the best missionary right now .
