One More Time For the Kids In the Back-Søster Severson's Adventures in Esbjerg Denmark October 11, 2021 Week 77

WOW LAST weekly that's WEIRD  This has actually been a really good week, we were over in Odense for the Angela Brower Concert. We had a fun time helping make food, setting up, and then putting on our white shirts and ties. Yep sisters in white shirts and ties... it was a look.  BUT we had a lot of fun talking to people and listening to the concert even though it was freezing cold.  The next day Angela gave a devotional for just the missionaries and sang a few more songs. It was really cool! We heard about transfers and Sister Kjar is headed to Odense!! They are putting Elders in Esbjerg!  Most of the rest of this week was us meeting with some of our friends and members organizing things and saying goodbye.  I am genuinely SO SAD to be passing off all of my tech work. I know I'm leaving it all in good hands but it's like my BABY. But it's ok, hopefully I'll be able to do something with everything I've learned.  Spiritual thought this week is just my testimony/gr

Party Time & Conference Favorites-Søster Severson's Adventures in Esbjerg Denmark October 4, 2021 Week 76

This week was a party and a half!! It basically poured rain every single day and riding bikes in the rain but other than that, great week!! We actually taught some people this weekend and found some solid friends. MIRACLES. Friday was like the second time me and Kjar had taught a gospel lesson together since we became a companionship...We've basically just become English/Danish teachers! Anyways, Tuesday and Wednesday we got to be in what basically was a quad. Søster Clark and Hofmann had to come to Esbjerg from Copenhagen to get their car fixed so they stayed with us and that was fun!! Not going to lie, it felt like we just had some extra p days this week haha.  This weekend was general conference which is pretty much Christmas for missionaries. We got to watch it with some members which was super fun!! The Danes also always watch it in English so that made it easy for us!  One of my favorite talks from Conference this session was from Brad Wilcox, I love what he said in this qu

Culture Class and Trip to Ribe-Søster Severson's Adventures in Esbjerg Denmark September 20, 2021 Week 74

Good week this week!! Not a ton to report on, mostly just classic tech work, had my "culture class" to stay in the country and extend my visa. (Jokes lol cause I go home soon), but it was super fun! It was on marriage and family law and democracy and freedom super interesting!! Most of the other missionaries thought it was super boring but I took notes!(Yes, I am a nerd.) Other than that our week was super low key. Just same old missionary stuff, but today we went out to Ribe. The oldest city in Denmark and the oldest Christian church in DK from omkring 850ekf so that's super cool!! We took some pictures and did some fun dances.  Spiritual thought this week is a quote from Mary Stallings that says "a lack of  understanding is not a lack of faith it is just a fact of faith" I loved that idea, often revelation comes as foggy inspiration, one step to take at a time but we have to act in faith without an understanding if we want to progress. Following revelation is

Adventures in Biking & Stake Conference-Søster Severson's Adventures in Esbjerg Denmark September 13, 2021 Week 73

Good week this week! Biked and walked a whole bunch, had a short splits with the Fredericia Sisters and Stake Conference. I even helped translate for a visitor the elders had invited. Both Elders are super new,  so all three probably needed the translation haha. But it was low key stressful!  But it has been a good week, we wrote a song and filmed a music video!! Buttt that will take about 4 years to edit and might not be out until after I am home aahahah.  Stay tuned!!  I read a lot this week about Prayer and improving our prayers. I liked this quote I read this week:  "Will prayers that do not demand much of your thought merit much attention from our Father in heaven?"  The thought really inspired me to be more intentional about my prayers. Sometimes fewer words and more sincerity are what we need to really communicate with our Father in heaven.  Joseph Smith's scripture always reminds me God delights in our efforts to seek. James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him

Trunky Transfer-Søster Severson's Adventures in Esbjerg Denmark September 6, 2021 Week 72

Wow! When I got to Denmark I had 7 transfers left, and I assumed I would probably get about 2 areas, with 3-4 transfers in each. Here is how my mission has actually turned out: 1 HOPE MILLS  2  "           " 3  "           " 4  "           "  5 CARY (for 17 days lol)  6 SØNDERBORG  7  "           " 8  "           " 9 HORSENS 10 LYNGBY  11 BALLERUP 12 ESBJERG  Yep that's right, I got transferred again! I'm now in Esbjerg, which is on the far west coast of Denmark on the Jylland peninsula. And if you're wondering how that last one is pronounced it is (ess-beee-air). Now I'm here living it up with Sister Kjar!  She is from Georgia and served with Liberty my Hawaii homie in Texas before she got here. We've only been together for 3 days but we are already Homies. Blessed times. Last night we had dinner with a member, his less active daughter, and their friend from Egypt. I love learning from other people about how they se
