The week! I am going to try and remember everything that happened this week but it has been a little bit crazy so I am not going to be able to do it justice.  Tuesday: normal work day, met with people, worked on Instagram classic, drove to Horsens for splits with Sister Skousen and Sister Hafen Wednesday: 20th birthday!! Got to spend the day with the sisters, it was really fun! Drove back to Sønderborg and had a correlation meeting that was also a little surprise party from our Elders Quorum and Relief >Society presidents. They made me a gf cake that gave me classic Danish chocolate milk. Literally love them! Meeting was good and Sister English and I were hyped, we had a bunch of referrals and were excited to get grinding reaching out to them.  Thursday: District council, and a mission wide banke pĂĄ session where we all went out and knocked on doors at the same time in our respective areas. The adrenaline was a little bit high and made for some strange conversations but it was fun

One Year Older (And Hopefully Wiser Too?) Søster Severson's Adventures in Sønderborg Denmark, April 19, 2021 Week 52

Hej med jer!!!  Denne sidste uge tog vi op til København, og det var bare hyggelig.  *(Prepare yourself for way too long of a weekly undskyld)  This last week our district, (our sub group of missionaries so us in Sønderborg, the Frederacia Søstre, and Odense Elders and Sisters) got to go to Copenhagen for the day!!! But tbh the whole week was too much fun. Because of how far away we are, (tak sønderborg) we got to do double sleepovers in Frederacia with Søster Hofmann and Søster Taylor !! So we drove up Monday night, spent the day in Copenhagen, then drove back on Wednesday morning.  Copenhagen was SO much fun. We got to go to the Temple and do baptisms for the dead. It was the first time I've been able to go to the temple since Hawaii and it was a super special experience. Nothing can compare to the overwhelming peace and clarity of being inside a temple. It made me so grateful that I was able to go through so often before my mission, A little sad the temples are mostly still cl

Jumping for Joy! Søster Severson's Adventures in Sønderborg Denmark, April 13, 2021 Week 51

Last night we drove up to Fredericia to spend the night, and we'll stay again tonight. Thursday is my one year mark of mission service, and today I will visit the heart of my mission for the first time. I want to do our amazing day justice, so stay tuned. In the meantime, I sent these pictures of Sister English, Hoffman, Taylor and I working on our jumping skills. We happen to be doing splits in Sønderborg, and we thought a little jumping would do the body and mind good.  “Now, what do we hear in the gospel which we have received? A voice of gladness! A voice of mercy from heaven; and a voice of truth out of the earth; … glad tidings of great joy” ( D&C 128:19 ). Friends, faith, nature and the opportunity to invite others to share the joy I have found in the gospel of Jesus Christ. What brings you joy? Till next week- Love  Søster Severson ps. To be able to meet, we have each had 5 CoVid tests in the last week. My throat will never be the same.

He Lives! Søster Severson's Adventures in Sønderborg Denmark, April 5, 2021 Week 50

Another week gone and we are not sure where it went. The past few weeks have flown by, and we have had it meget travlt.  We have been working on Instagram and have been able to give out a couple referrals already from it!! One of them, a friend named Pouyon had walked by one of our church building up in Randers nearly every day and always wanted to join. Then we wrote to him on Instagram and he was really excited about the message we had to share and that we encouraged him to pray and read in his native language. So he felt a little torn because he liked what we were sharing but he also felt a connection to the building he walked past every day, that his friend had told him was full of the best and nicest people. Needless to say he was SO excited to learn they are in fact the same church. ;) #godisgoodlikethat We did some good service for some members in our ward, helping plant trees and move stones. Somewhere along the way in North Carolina I learned that i am in fact my parents dau
