2020! First Semester, Submitting Mission Papers!

Well looking back on this semester I achieved half of my goals (insert half an exclamation mark?)! Shockingly I did not end up working out or getting nearly as tan as I planned. That's fine- Ill live. BUT I did succeed in my first three goals 1) Get all A's 2) Create Friendships 3) Be Spiritually Strengthened
There was a hiccup with my grades, one of my professors put in the wrong grade but I emailed him and got it straightened out :)
I also finished off 2019 going through the temple! Which was a super exciting experience and most of my aunts and uncles and my grandparents were there which made it really special! I can't wait to continue to go through in the future for my ancestors and help them make the covenants and promises that I have now made.

And on January 3, 2020 I SUBMITTED MY MISSION PAPERS!!! SUPER EXCITED AND ANXIOUS! I'm trying to be more optimistic this year so I am choosing to be more excited than nervous. I've received a bunch of good advice while anticipating my call but here is what has been most comforting for me:

1. This is the only time in your life you will receive a call directly from a prophet of God- trust that it is inspired by Him for you!
2. The list of places you would be excited to go is just as long as those that you would be disappointed about- Try to think of how many cool places there are out there for you!
3. Listing attributes before locations- I really liked this advice, thinking about what you want in a mission instead of just where you think you want to go.

          a. Foreign! I really want to go abroad. Hopefully my Celiac wont hold me back from that.
          b. Language! I feel like learning another language now will be vital for and even shape my future. If I really want to work for the State Department or do anything I want language experience will be vital. French, Russian, Chinese whatever.
          c. Immersion- I really want to be fully immersed in the language I learn, I don't want to get called to a country that speaks primarily X language but I've been assigned to learn Y language
          d. Temperate- this one goes out the window if I get called to Russia but I am more worried about the heat than the cold. Cold I feel like I could handle- heat I would just break down.
          e. Gluten-free food- I would preferably want to be able to eat while on a mission- enough said.

I'm crossing my fingers that unless my health stuff holds anything up that I will have my call on Jan. 14th (potentially the 21st or 28th as well) AHHH SO EXCITED AND NERVOUS! Part of me wants to list the places I want to go but again it is a pretty long list, but like France anyone (?)
