WE MADE AN INSTAGRAM!!! Søster Severson's Adventures in Sønderborg Denmark, March 22, 2021 Week 48
Well it has come to my attention that actually a lot more people than I thought read these things so I will try and make them slightly more entertaining!
This week was good!!! We are doing a 40 day fast from things that distract us right now and some of the things we have decided to give up are:
- sugar (RIP sweets/candy at least)
- naps during meal times
- casual Facebook scrolling
So I replaced that with reading Saints during meal times and finished the entire first book in a week. So apparently one can be a lot more productive if one only stays awake long enough to do something about it. Shocking revelation.
WE MADE AN INSTAGRAM!!!
Yes you heard that correctly, Den Danske Mission decided to make an Instagram and for some reason they are letting Sister English and I be in charge of it... we are way too hyped. So please hit us up with any and all favorite quotes and scriptures we can use on our page!!
@ XXXXXXXXXXXXX fredikristus
We also ACTUALLY had a good day of contacting on the street. Legitimately the first day Sister English and I have both been like wow ok that was kind of fun /successful. Turns out the trick was to start treating it as Danish practice. So we just stopped a bunch of people and asked us if they had a moment to talk to us in Danish and pretty much everyone was down to help! #blessings
Dansk: forårsjævndøgn= spring equinox påske= easter kanin=bunny æg=egg forår= spring (literally "for year") 🥚
Spiritual Thought!
I was reading this week in Exodus 14 and came across this in verses 13-14
"Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day... The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace."
As I have been reading Saints this week I was struck with just how significant Covenants are to the Lord. How anxious the early Saints were to receive the blessings of being "endowed with power in a temple of the Lord" before they journeyed west.
Sometimes it feels like the Lord asks a lot of us, "where much is given much is required" but these verses remind me that the covenants we make with God, to remember him and keep his commandments are so simple. Exodus 14:13-14 reminds me that often all the Lord asks is that we "stand still, hold our peace, and fear not" how much easier can He make it? All he wants it to bless and help us and so little is really asked for by him.
So "Fear not, little flock; do good" D&C 6:34 :)
JEG ELSKER JER!! Hav en god uge ;)
