Søster Severson's Mission Adventures Week 14 "Uge 6"
Hej Alle!!! It has been another awesome week in NC! Here are some of the highlights:
-
Cape Fear River!! Sister Butler and I were able to go hike to Cape
Fear, a river that my ancestors owned property on which was super fun!!
We got muddy and very sweaty- please enjoy the pics.
-
Bag Pipes! We were over at the church last tuesday trying to schedule
Facebook posts and suddenly a bunch of people start showing up with
drums and bagpipes?? Apparently it is a community bagpipes band idk why
but cool!
-Interviews with President! I was
stressed but the Hendersons are so awesome, their philosophy is 'quiet
obedience' 100% here for it. He asked if there was anything he could do
for me and I was like pray for the consulates to open and he said yeah
same (the Henderson's are only here temporarily until the Morras who are
coming from Australia can get visas so we really all are out here
praying for the same thing)
- First Transfer
Training!!! I have a lot to learn lol Sister Butler was made STL over
our Zone... as of right now we are still the only sisters in the zone
but we are assuming that means there are plans to add Sisters in as they
 come in for reassignment!!!!!
- Service this week
was helping at an Icecream social with the H2 Eders literally just held a
door open for an hour in the middle of a thunderstorm but like it was
fun!!
Spiritual Thought:
 This
week as we were teaching along with Come Follow Me, we kept coming back
to these two verses in Alma. This is Alma the Younger describing his
experience of repentance to his son.
Alma 38: 8-9

8 And it came to pass that I was three days and three nights in
the most bitter pain and anguish of soul; and never, until I did cry out
unto the Lord Jesus Christ for mercy, did I receive a remission of my
sins. But behold, I did cry unto him and I did find peace to my soul.
	9
And now, my son, I have told you this that ye may learn wisdom, that ye
may learn of me that there is no other way or means whereby man can be
saved, only in and through Christ. Behold, he is the life and the light
of the world. Behold, he is the word of truth and righteousness.
We
were using these verses to teach about prayer and repentance. In danish
the word for repentance is 'omvendelse' which literally means to 'turn
about'. When we feel guilty, are in anguish, or have made a mistake, we
recognize we need to turn back to God. The first step is having Faith in
Jesus Christ and recognizing that is is only through Him that we can be
saved. The next step is choosing to turn to him, to utilize his
atonement and his suffering. In Almas words to "cry out unto the Lord". I
know that when we pray sincerely and with faith that our sins can be
forgiven and we can feel "peace to [our] soul[s]".
Dansk:
not really that exciting to anyone else but Søster Clark and I got
permission to send eachother voice recordings/ have calls and it has
been SO hjælpsom!!! If anyone is bored please send me something in
Danish so I can practice translating!!
