Soster Severson's Mission Adventures Week 12, Love of the People in Fayetteville, North Carollina

Hej!!! This week has gone by so fast!! We found 3 new people to teach and had 2 sacrament meetings. (Basically member present at a lesson on a Sunday... thanks CoVid) but so exciting!!!
Low of the Week: Facebook and Ward office computers, both have been making our lives incredibly difficult, we spent two hours trying to edit and post a ten minute video for our areas Facebook Page.
High of the Week: We had a lesson with a recent convert outside, it was crazy hot and humid but we got to meet his German Sheppard puppy #blessings #GodisGood

My favorite part of being in North Carolina has definitely been the people. I know it is what every missionary says but like the people here are just the best!!! They are so faithful and just LOVE Jesus so much. It shouldn't be so surprising to me that people outside the Church love God but I guess I didn't know many religious people outside of the Church before I came out. I just deeply admire the hope and faith the people here have, even if they don't know everything they trust completely in the Lord completely.

The Danish is coming very slowly. It's hard to remember to find the time to practice. I have been trying to read out loud a lot from Mormons Bog and Preach My Gospel in Danish... we are still struggling a little bit.

Spiritual Thought: This week I felt really overwhelmed at how much I don't know. And how incredibly complex and dense the scriptures actually are. At this point my scriptures are almost unreadable because I have marked them up so much. Yet I still feel like I know absolutely nothing. And if you were to ask me for a scripture about "faith" or anything simple principle I would likely just stare at you for 10 minutes overwhelmed. Haha I hope I am not the only one who feels that way sometimes...

But I found this scripture that brought me a lot of peace on the topic in Jacob 4:8

"Behold, great and marvelous are the works of the Lord. How unsearchable are the depths of the mysteries of him; and it is impossible that man should find out all his ways. And no man knoweth of his ways save it be revealed unto him; wherefore, brethren, despise not the revelations of God."

I like this scripture and this chapter in Jacob, because it talks all about the Spirit and revelation. God, Religion, and Faith can be such overwhelming things to want to learn more about. The scriptures are some of the most beautiful the most complex books in existence. But the way we come to understand all these things is through the Spirit and through Revelation. I know that when we pray and study our scriptures that the Spirit is how we receive answers and inspiration from God. It is how we learn and find peace in this life.

Dansk: åbenbaring is the word for revelation in Danish the first part of the word is the word for open. Just kind of thought that was cool.
