🇩🇰 MTC week 5 "How do you feel the duck?"

Hvordan har I det?
Another week gone and I finish the Online MTC on Saturday... so probably my last post for a few weeks. This week has been super intense we've been speaking more Danish and less English, but it has been super fun. We are learning though that the Danes like to keep their grammar simple and their vocabulary complicated- there are 4 ways to say "I think", and 3 ways to say "I know" all for slightly different (but indistinguishable) circumstances. Tak Dansk.
We had another TRC with our friend Amanda, she goes to BYU and is studying Classics with and emphasis in classical Greek so I got to nerd out for a second about Greek with her but realized how much of it I am already forgetting. Tak Dansk. Søster Clark and I thought this lesson went much better than our last one with her (when we couldn't figure out how to speak English properly), we taught her about why faith is important and encouraged her to pray to know if God is there.
Another thing we worked on was teaching the Plan of Salvation and explaining the Atonement pÃ¥ dansk. It was blessing to me because I found that as we practiced teaching and talking about different parts of the Plan of Salvation, I was keeping a better eternal perspective. It has been hard reconciling my mission experience has been/ will be so different from what I expected. But it is not about my expectations for my mission, it is about God's plan for his children. Remembering that has helped me be more hopeful and excited for my time in North Carolina and whatever other crazy changes come my way.

Spiritual Thought: This week has had its ups and downs from feeling sufficiently humbled (ok discouraged) by my abilities, to feeling confident and absolute in my faith. Feeling inadequate can feel overwhelming at times. The weight of our mortality just seems particularly heavy some days, and it can be hard to recognize our worth.
My favorite example of a resilient response to this is in 2 Nephi 4:17-35. I would encourage everyone to take the time to read it and ponder on Nephi's thoughts and feelings and the pattern he uses to overcome his discouragement. Resilience is difficult to learn yet a vital part of our progressing.  The whole section is a little bit long but I will add some of my favorite verses:

2 Nephi 4:18-20, 26-27
18 I am encompassed about, because of the temptations and the sins which do so easily beset me.
19 And when I desire to rejoice, my heart groaneth because of my sins; nevertheless, I know in whom I have trusted.
20 My God hath been my support; he hath led me through mine afflictions in the wilderness; and he hath preserved me upon the waters of the great deep.
26 O then, if I have seen so great things, if the Lord in his condescension unto the children of men hath visited men in so much mercy, why should my heart weep and my soul linger in the valley of sorrow, and my flesh waste away, and my strength slacken, because of mine afflictions?
27 And why should I yield to sin, because of my flesh? Yea, why should I give way to temptations, that the evil one have place in my heart to destroy my peace and afflict my soul? Why am I angry because of mine enemy?

Danish Word of the Week:  Some nice animal names for your enjoyment
på dansk: Flodhest is a hippo, directly translated is a "river horse". Næbdyr is platypus or more literally "beak animal". Skildpadde is a turtle, or "armored amphibian". One of the more confusing animal names for me is duck or "and" because it is almost identical to the word for spirit "ånd". They are pronounced differently which is good, but at one point I forgot the halo on an A in my notes and had written down "Hvordan føler du anden?" "How do you feel the duck?"
