🇩🇰 MTC week 2 "Saint Elmo"
Hej alle! 100% True what they say about days being long but weeks being short while you are on a mission... this week has flown by.
Spiritual Thought: With everything changing so quickly, I am sure a lot of you are feeling very uncertain. Like you we have no idea what the rest of our missions looks like. But here was a scripture that brought me comfort this week:
Proverbs 3: 5-6, 23-26 "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not to thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths... Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble. When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken."
I know it can be hard to choose to have faith, or choose to hope, but when we lean on the Lord we receive greater strength and support. Our burdens are eased and we can rest, being at peace with the knowledge that God is the architect of all and is mindful of each of us. And He is preparing a way for his work to be accomplished. Trust in Him.

Danish Word of the Week: Tbh felt kind of like a genius when I pieced this one together even though its pretty obvious but, the Danish word for "mountain" is "bjerg" which means isbjerg på Dansk = iceberg in English. So an Iceberg is an "Ice Mountain" Wow. Seems so obvious but my little two week old Danish mind was blown.
Pictures!!!
1. Rasmus my Viking friend. The name Rasmus is a common Scandinavian name and comes from "Erasmus" meaning Beloved (which he is), also the name of Erasmus of Formia also known as Saint Elmo.
2. Class! Ft. Søster Clark and Søster Maquiling (the kammerats) and our teachers.
2. Quarantine Cut- Thanks Mom
4. The scripture highlights are getting slightly out of control but they still make sense to me so lol
5. My Stake President promised he would eat a Danish cookie everyday I was gone (because he is hardcore like that and loves supporting his missionaries)- here is the proof
6. Danish Tongue Twisters for your enjoyment
Lots of love to you all! Hope everyone is staying safe! I would love to hear about what you are all doing while under lock down of if you have any questions about me or how the Online MTC is going please email me!!
Hej Hej!
- Thursday: We had our first follow up TRC. (practice teaching... no idea what the acronym actually stands for..) It went really well especially considering our first one with this friend was a little bit of a disaster, this one was super awesome! We talked about prayer and how it can connect us to God, and by praying we can receive direction in our lives.
- Friday: Great routine day- learning about names of family members på Dansk
- Saturday: Practice meeting people. Way harder than you would think, especially because Danes would rather talk about their intimate lives than their religion with a stranger... It was a little rough, we were pretty awkward. Søster Clark and I wrote some pretty legit tongue twisters (ok so they are really just alliterations, that make no sense in English. Or Danish, but we were proud.)
- Sunday: Shout out to the Larsen Family for an awesome Zoom family home evening talking about Denmark and Argentina. Made me even more excited to get out into the field. Later we did some good family board gaming.
- Monday: I just had to get on the bandwagon and get a quarantine haircut, not quite as short as some. Got to learn about telling time and counting in Danish which I can barely do in Engelsk. Yeah, it was rough.
- Tuesday: Awesome Devotional from the Cooks, Søster Clark and I practiced explaining the gospel på Dansk-- to be honest I really don't know how our teachers take us seriously when we are trying to speak Danish... we sound like we are five years old... actually worse than that, we sound like we are foreigners.
