A Collection of Random Events Leading Up to College Day 1

FRIDAY: Hung out with Mom, was able to move some of my classes around which was super helpful. Said by to her just before noon so she could catch her flight back to Oakland and so I could go to my New Student Orientation. Orientation was fun we got to listen to some of the History of BYUH and how this place Laie Hawaii was designated as a sacred space that will be a place of discipleship that will work to influence millions. And from BYUH will go forth students who will work to create peace internationally. After Orientation I went and got my TB test read, luckily I don't have TB :)

SATURDAY: Liberty and I mostly just hung out and talked and were super hot all day so that was actually pretty chill and we had fun doing that, then we made a foodland run.

SUNDAY: Sunday was pretty wild the day started not so well. Basically I had a breakdown about if I should actually be here doing what I'm doing and if I should actually be taking Greek or even be at BYUH. After that mini break down we went to church which was super cool, turns out my Greek professor is our second counselor and our bishop also works at Kaiser. So church was super good, gluten free sacrament was a little awkward especially because rice cakes are a LOT louder than normal bread... we appreciate that. Then I went back to my Hale and did some Come Follow Me before Liberty and I went to Dr. Sharp's house for our Greek dinner, his wife was super sweet and even made me gluten free pasta which I always appreciate. And Liberty agreed to take the class which was such a tender mercy. After that we went to the Fireside that had beautiful music and President and Sister Tanner spoke and it was awesome.

MONDAY: I ended up having a lot more fun than I thought I would on Monday. Initially I was super anxious about the Hukilau Bash which was supposed to be the entire school at a beach not far from campus playing games and sports and stuff. But I ended up going and stayed the whole time (granted we arrived late but still pretty impressive for me). Ashley Liberty and I swam and talked the whole time and it was actually really fun. After Hukilau we had FHE back over at the Sharp's house. Always a little extra creepy when you show up two nights in a row but it was fine. Everyone just hung out and chatted, turns out there are actually a bunch of really cool people from all over in my war; lots of California and Utah to be expected, but also some DC, Florida, Japan, Malaysia, Qatar, Philippines, China, India, it was pretty crazy they defiantly weren't joking about the diversity here. Its cool to hear all the different accents and languages on campus.

TUESDAY: Tuesday was relatively chill. We had academic orientation which was kind of boring and really only stressed me out. But I met some new people that were super nice so that was cool. Then I got some adulting done and finally figured out how to print stuff at the printing center which was good. And I finished off My Big Fat Greek Wedding and My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2.  And we finished it off with a big dinner party where a bunch of the clubs on campus performed traditional dances, or traditional dances to modern music... it was cool. Good Day.

Basically everything leading up to school starting was somehow super cram packed with like a mind dulling amount of free time mixed in. But with everything out of the way I'm super ready to finally get working and get back to school.
